It covers 4,800 square kilometers of untouched wilderness in Northern Ontario's Pre-cambrian shield rock forest. No hunting, roads, or development of any kind are allowed and firearms are prohibited. Even motorized boats are banned from the park, so you can travel by canoe through a truly remote wilderness.

Batchewaung Lake Outpost Cabin
On a small rock island in the middle of Batchewaung Lake, rests a beautiful 2 bedroom cabin completed in the fall of 1999. This is in 'Quetico Park', so you must paddle and portage into the cabin from the Nym Lake entry point; no boats and motors allowed. The 5 mile canoe trip includes on portage of 750 yards, and most people make the trip in about 3 hours. The cabin is fully insulated, and completely equipped with solar/electric lighting, propane refrigerator and stove, propane barbeque, all cooking and eating utensils, wood stove, and 2 bedrooms; each has a queen size bed and 3 single bunk beds.
